How to Choose Your Social Media Channel
What kind of business are you in? If, for example, you sell beautiful products that practically sell themselves, then platforms like Instagram and Pinterest can be leveraged to show your products in the best light.
If you provide a service then there is little point in using Pinterest or Instagram, as more likely than not, you will end up using generic-looking clipart. Like any kind of business, however, you should at least consider LinkedIn. It is a way to make connections with like-minded business owners while providing network and business opportunities.

If you have not used Twitter before, it can seem a little daunting at first – it is a rather odd medium. We would recommend though that you add this to the list of social platforms that you at least consider. It should be noted however that Twitter is not for the ‘hard sell’, it’s more a place to express an opinion, share stories and content – don’t try to sell… let your continued positive presence do that for itself.
Facebook is excellent for B2C interactions, rather than B2B. Around 62% of UK adults have a Facebook account, so this is a wasted opportunity if you don’t jump on it. Facebook provides an accessible platform for you to reach existing and potential customers, as well as allowing them to provide feedback.
Setting up a dedicated page, as opposed to using your personal Facebook account, is an excellent step forward in the right direction.
Management is everything
Being on social media is great, but it isn’t worth much if you are not managing it well, which is where we can help you. However, if you are not posting and responding then you may as well close the accounts because they are not helping you.
Having a solid plan of action is always going to help, and you should always make responding to queries and comments a priority.
